A WEEK TO CELEBRATE

Oh how I love a good celebration. Birthdays, dog’s birthday, anniversaries, graduations, new jobs, new house (we keep a bottle of champagne in the fridge because you never know when you’ll need to celebrate something fabulous). But this past week was one of the biggest moments in my life thus far worth celebrating. While I celebrated my 27th birthday with a weekend of  festivities, (thanks to my dear husband and a few family members that made it so special) I was also celebrating a new business venture. Some of you may know, some may not, but all the while I’ve been doing photography I’ve been working another job, a “day job” if you will. I used to work full time, then I went down to part time but I’ve been wanting to take on photography full time but it hadn’t felt quite right–yet.  However, a few months ago, I began to feel like it was finally the right moment to move forward with my business and take the plunge to leave the day job behind.  Is it scary? OH yes.  Is it exciting? More than anything. And truthfully, I just couldn’t be happier and feeling more passionate about what I do.  I am thankful to my husband for his support and his willingness to let me go for my dreams, no matter how big or how small.  I am thankful for our families who have encouraged me and sent kind words my way that spur me on.  I am thankful for dreams that don’t die but instead just keep growing and knocking at my door waiting for me to pursue them. And mostly, I’m thankful for so many of YOU. Without you I wouldn’t be doing what I do, and I am grateful for each and every one of you because you have truly impacted my life and encouraged me in so many ways.

Whew, that’s a long and sappy post, but truthfully, I felt it was important to share because this is a huge moment in this journey we call life and I had to share it with you and say thank you :) It’s a great moment for me and I’m bursting with joy. Not to mention, it’s been a beautiful Christmas season at our home, I only wish it would last a little longer!

Thank you for being a part of my journey and sharing in my story.  It’s not always an easy road, but it’s beautiful no matter what.

Susie Tilton - I know first hand of the wonderful work that you do, and I can tell you without a doubt that you are going to be awesome and bring the same joy to others that you have brought to my family. Your work is inspiring and beautiful and I hope that everyone out in the world gets to see the beauty of your craft. Thank you so much for being a part of our lives, and if we need any of our life events captured you will be the first and only one I call. You are beautiful and you capture that in your photography perfectly. Love you.
