After spending a week traveling Arizona, I came home to the Midwest with an ache in my heart for some kind of scenery that we so lack here in Ohio. However, after an overcast and chilly afternoon at Oak Openings Metropark photographing two beautiful souls I realized: yes, we lack mountains and significantly noticeable landscapes. However, our changing seasons offer a beauty all their own. One just needs to open their eyes to be inspired because beauty really is everywhere.

We caught the last of autumn’s leaves and the first of winter’s chill for Ruth + Nate’s session. And while I do love a good sunset hour for photos, sometimes an overcast day can create the perfect mood and really let the subject shine. Thanks to these two for traveling to Toledo from Ft. Wayne for their session. Ruth is a dear friend of mine, and not to mention, an insanely talented photographer who greatly inspires me. She and Nate are the sweetest, most down to earth pair (and if possible, even more beautiful on the inside than out) and I’m thankful our paths have crossed.
