” I have always loved the desert. One sits down on a desert sand dune, sees nothing, hears nothing. Yet through the silence something throbs, and gleams…” // Antoine de Saint-Exupery
I suppose the desert isn’t for everyone. It’s hotter than h-e-l-l, dusty, a bit temperamental and offers very little reprieve from the blazing sun. But yet, if you look a bit deeper, it’s overflowing with mystery. Quiet. Enough color and texture to make anyone who appreciates nature get their mind blown. The desert is truly my favorite escape. I’ve traveled all over the world and while I’ve loved every place I’ve visited, there are certain places that leave an imprint on my heart, like a tattoo that never grows old or fades with time. I can without a doubt say that Arizona is now the most beautiful place I’ve ever experienced and I cannot wait to go back.
After finishing up my wedding season late last month, my husband and I spent a little over a week wandering up and down Arizona getting our minds blown by the Grand Canyon State. Words don’t do it justice and photos don’t do it justice, but they’ll have to do until you can experience it for yourself. Here are some images from our time in Tucson, Saguaro National Park, Sedona, the Grand Canyon and Scottsdale.
