Ah, these types of weddings really tug at my heart strings. Lauren contacted me just a few weeks before their wedding and said, “We’ve been engaged for two years and it’s time to do it. We’re getting married in two weeks!” I was delighted to have the day available to work with them. Surrounded by a small group of family they had a short + sweet ceremony at Wildwood Metropark. The celebration continued afterward with friends and more family gathering for an intimate backyard party at Lauren’s childhood home. What a delightful evening for this pair and their daughter Lily! Vinyl records spinning, the family dog roaming, rope bubbles, delicious food and all the hugs and smiles to go around.
Sharing in Lauren + Tim’s day was so heartfelt and refreshing. No one sweat the small stuff. All of the focus was on getting married and throwing a fun party with their daughter and their people. Certainly, their day was proof that you don’t always need years or even months to plan a wedding. A lot can come together in a short amount of time with the right amount of creativity.
And to the couples who do what’s right for them when it comes to getting married, cheers to you! Sometimes it’s getting married in a church and inviting everyone you know. Other times it’s planning a wedding in two weeks with your closest loved ones. Or maybe it’s escaping with just the two of you. What makes a wedding perfect is the bride + groom doing it their way and having the most fun possible.
Congratulations to these two and their daughter, Lily!
