Emily + Dillon and I were connected by some mutual friends. When we first began emailing and discussing the wedding, I knew, we were a match. They had selected the tiniest chapel in the middle of the woods at Hartwick Pines State Park in Michigan for their ceremony. No bridal party, no fuss, just a very intimate gathering of family and a few hours of photo coverage. What a quintessential autumn day. The leaves on fire with color, a fresh chill in the air under a canopy of trees made for the most romantic setting. We began their time together with a first look at (the jaw droppingly beautiful) Glory Lake. Followed by a short and sweet ceremony with plenty of time for portraits afterwards as their family headed to Traverse City for some pre dinner drinks. Just as it should be, this day was 100% about them.
We had a fantastic couple hours post ceremony wandering the park and taking photos and making some magic. Many thanks to these two for entrusting me to capture their unique day. And many thanks to the state of Michigan for providing quite the color show when home was still green.
